The disdain/ennui factor is way overdone--and diminishes him, I admit. But I can't really fault him for his arrogance. Studs of his overwhelming desirability would be hard-pressed to stay humble. Still, a little friendliness toward his adoring clientele wouldn't hurt (and probably secure his place in the will a lot better than such unappealing behavior.)
