@heurtebise: Just recently discovered that my boy Bert (Edwards), a contemporary of Bill's, died in '86. I'd been aware that he'd committed suicide after being diagnosed with AIDS but for some reason I thought he'd done himself in years earlier--like '81 or '82. I once met Bill in a Times Square porno shop in the 70s. I too remember him as being a sweet boy.
The 'Reflections' solo is probably the best. Sweet, sweet guy, field&track star in HS in Rochester, NY, got hooked on drugs early, struggled hard against it for years, but finally succumbed in early 1990s, wasted by coke & meth
