"woof" was meant to be a compliment. Unlike dogs, wolves do not bark. However, on rare occasions a wolf will utter one "woof" to other wolves. Basically it means "Red alert!", "Did you see/hear that?", etc. It sounds exactly like a large dog "woof". For me "woof" is reserved for wolves, and this model is hung like a wolf.
